The Monty Tech Welding/Metal Fabrication program effectively prepares students to enter the workforce as skilled welders, welder technicians, metal fabrication technicians and more. Skilled instructors teach a variety of welding processes including Oxy-Fuel Cutting and Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, as well as light plated and sheet metal fabrication. Students will also learn a number of metal fabrication practices, including layout, forming, rolling, bending, punching, shearing and inspection, using the latest manual and semi-automatic equipment found in today’s fabrication facilities.

Students in the Monty Tech Welding/Metal Fabrication program have an opportunity to earn a number of certifications and credentials that not only demonstrate a deep understanding of industry-related content, but also make our program graduates more employable. Graduates from our Welding/Metal Fabrication program may benefit from agreements as listed below. These agreements may save qualified students time and money, making advanced technical training or a college degree much more attainable.

Acceleration in the training program as follows: Accepted graduates with additional credit will enroll as first-year apprentices, and will be eligible for promotion to third year level upon satisfactory completion of one-year probationary period.

Any graduate from the Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School Welding/Metal Fabrication program who is accepted to the training program will be granted the opportunity for accelerated advancement through the program. Accepted graduates will enroll as first-year apprentices, and will be eligible for review for promotion to a third year upon satisfactory completion of a one-year probationary period.
