Students in Monty Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing program learn a variety of skills by studying blueprints and drawings, and by applying math and science to operate engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) and CNC machines (Computer Numerical Control). Our students learn Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software, enabling them to expertly create machine tools with more precise dimensions and material consistency. The Monty Tech Advanced Manufacturing program has benefitted from a generous Skills Capital grant, providing funding for updated equipment, tools, and a new Metrology Lab. As a result, students now work and learn in a state-of-the-art machine shop, and may earn a number of industry-recognized credentials to demonstrate their technical capacity.
After graduation students may seek employment in any of the following career pathways:
Students in the Monty Tech Advanced Manufacturing program have an opportunity to earn a number of certifications and credentials that not only demonstrate a deep understanding of industry-related content, but also make our program graduates more employable. Throughout the 4-year program, Advanced Manufacturing students may earn the following:
Graduates from our Machine Technology program may benefit from a number of articulation agreements with area colleges and universities, as listed below. These agreements save qualified students time and money, making a college education much more attainable.
*Students with MACWIC II or NIMS I certification will be awarded 4 credits rather than 2.
